Climate & best time to travel

When it rewards you most.

Best time to travel December to March for snow, June to September for alpine summer.

Biberwier sits at around 1,000 metres in the Tyrolean Zugspitze region, framed by peaks above 2,000 metres. Winter is snow-sure and cold, often with clear, sunny days. Summer stays pleasant, rarely oppressive, usually around 20 to 25 °C with cool nights. Afternoon thunderstorms can build in high summer, so early outings are the calmer choice.

  • December to March Ski and toboggan season, snow-sure and cold; the chalet with sauna and fireplace as the centre.
  • June to September Alpine summer for hiking, mild around 20 to 25 °C; afternoon storms possible in high summer.
  • April, May, October, November Transition period with snowmelt or first snow; quiet, but some lifts pause.
